“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
There are seasons in life when God seems silent.
You pray, but the answer does not come. You wait, but nothing appears to change. You seek direction, yet the path ahead remains unclear. In such moments, it is easy to wonder whether God has forgotten you or whether He is listening at all.
The Bible reminds us that God’s silence is not His absence.
Consider Joseph. He received a dream from God, but what followed was betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and imprisonment. For years, it may have seemed that God’s promises had failed. Yet behind the scenes, God was positioning Joseph exactly where he needed to be to fulfill a greater purpose. Faith kept him fixated on the greater good to come, he refused to defile himself even when Potiphar’s wife approached him asking for favours, despite his predicament.
We must never let our predicament define our position in relation to God. If we have faith in what He can do for us, then we will be able to endure, if we falter, we loose hope and eventually fall into sin.
The same was true for Abraham, David, Ruth, and many others. God’s greatest works often happened during seasons of waiting, hardship and turmoil.
We live in a world that values speed. We want immediate answers, instant solutions, and visible results. God, however, is often more concerned with preparing our hearts than accelerating our timelines. While we focus on what He is doing around us, God is frequently working within us to deliver us to the expected end – His will for us.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God,…… Then we often pray, Thy Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven! We must seek His will in our lives, as it is in heaven, not as we think or rather our hearts convinces us it ought to be!
Waiting develops faith. Waiting teaches dependence. Waiting deepens our trust in the One who sees the end from the beginning. This only happens if we do not loose the focus …. we focus on Him who began a good thing in us, not the problems, turmoil and hardships that we face.
Perhaps today you are praying for healing, restoration, provision, guidance, or breakthrough. Do not lose heart. The God who parted the Red Sea, fed Elijah in the wilderness, and raised Christ from the dead has not changed. His timing remains perfect, even when we do not understand it.
Faith is not believing only when we can see God’s hand. Faith is trusting His heart when His hand seems hidden. And especially when we do not see.
So if God feels silent today, continue praying. Continue believing. Continue walking in obedience.
The silence may not be a sign that God has stopped working. It may simply mean that He is working in ways you cannot yet see.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You are always at work, even when I cannot see it. Help me to trust Your timing and Your plans for my life. Strengthen my faith when answers seem delayed and remind me that Your ways are higher than my ways. Teach me to wait with patience, hope, and confidence in Your unfailing love.
